In addition to weekly art class for students in every grade, St. Mary’s offers opportunities throughout the year for artists to participate in extra visual art activities. Each year, St. Mary’s students submit artwork to various art competitions and exhibitions. The St. Louis Symphony sponsors a “Picture the Music” contest that draws thousands of Metro-St. Louis K-6 entries. Every year, St. Mary’s student work has been chosen for the exhibition at Powell Hall. St. Mary’s School also participates in the Edwardsville Arts Center’s Parochial School Art Show and submits student work for the Edwardsville Intelligencer‘s Draw an Ad competition every year. Class art projects are also a big part of the curriculum at every grade level. Many of these cross-curricular projects are favorites among the students. Student artwork is displayed at St. Mary’s STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, Math) Night towards the end of the school year. Outside of the classroom, St. Mary’s School hosts a Craft Club once a month where students create beautiful art projects.

We are St. Mary’s – a school to believe in!
